Boy Scout Troop 148 is located in beautiful Temecula, California, in the Tahquitz District of the California Inland Empire Council. We are chartered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4089, in Temecula, California.

We target at least one overnight event each month. Traditional backpacking and regular horizon-expanding events such as aviation, canoeing, cycling, local and wilderness camping are highlighted, promoting teamwork and leadership, as well as individual skills.

Advancement Deadline

Our next Court of Honor is May 22nd. The deadline for turning in all blue cards for Merit Badges and completing all board of reviews for rank advancement is May 8th. Please start scheduling Scoutmaster Conferences ASAP. 

Patrol Meetings This Week

Patrol Meetings this week at a location away from St. Thomas.

All Patrols should be meal planning for our First Class Campout. The Troop will provide Friday night dinner. All scouts will need a Mess Kit for this Campout. Ranger Jimmie has said at this point Dutch Ovens are NOT authorized.

Our annual First Class Camp will take place on May 18-20 at Boseker Scout Reservation. This is a great opportunity to learn and practice scout skills. It is also a great opportunity for our older scouts to teach and pass on their scouting knowledge.  We will also be working  our gift to BSR (the Centennial Trail).  

Summer Camp @ Camp Tahquitz

Summer Camp signups are now open. Summer Camp is a great place for scouts to accomplish a huge amount in a short period of time.  All newer scouts really need to attend to stay ahead the curve.  For older scouts its a great place to participate with more High Adventure type activities.

SAFE/Internet Crimes Against Children

At this weeks meeting we will have a special guest from the SAFE/ICAC Task Force. The SAFE/ICAC Team (Sex Assault Felony Enforcement/Internet Crimes Against Children) is a task force of law enforcement officers from several different agencies, operated and housed at the Riverside County District Attorney's Office in downtown Riverside, Ca.   This team regularly puts on an internet safety presentation, which is an interactive, educational presentation that provides age-appropriate resources to help teach how to be safer on- and offline. The program is designed for children ages 5-17, parents and guardians, educators, and law enforcement. They have customized the training for three audiences: children ages 5-12, teens 13-17 and adults.  These program covers many of the items in the BSA CyberChip and is informational for young adults and parents.
